ORIGIN OF THE FLORENTINES

It 's believed to be during the reign of Louis XII, husband of Anne de Bretagne, that a master pastry cook who had practised his talents at the Médicis of Florence in Italy came to Brittany and created this subtle biscuit : the Florentine.

The secret of this prodigious recipe (an harmonious mixture of honey, almonds, orange and chocolate) is passed down from chocolate maker to chocolate maker until this day.

Today the Chatillon company, holder of this exclusive know-how, manifactures the Véritables Florentines in the tradition of the master chocolate makers.
